LORETO PRIMARY TEACHERS’ WORKSHOP-2025

Description: St. Agnes' Loreto Day School Lucknow participated and hosted teachers from nineteen Loreto institutions for a Primary Teachers’ Workshop, under the able guidance of Sr. Stephanie Rodrigues, Head, Primary Education Loreto schools and Mrs. Bhattacharjee, Director, Loreto Education Office. The workshop was designed to equip educators with practical strategies and tools to effectively implement the objectives of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, the fundamental building block of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for foundational and secondary stage education. Held on 24th and 25th April, 2025, this educational convention was helmed by Mrs. Nidhi Srivastava, a staff member of the junior section from Loreto Convent Intermediate College and trained in foundational literacy and numeracy techniques. A workshop was conducted by her last year as well to familiarize teachers with the key features, objectives and implementation strategies mentioned in the FLN of NEP 2020. Focussing on enhancing the teachers’ understanding of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy principles and guidelines, the two-day workshop emphasized the importance of holistic learning and developing students' cognitive, social, ethical, and emotional capacities in parallel. Tailored to enhance foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, the workshop acquainted the teachers with the effective strategies and innovative teaching techniques to engage learners and cater to their diverse learning needs. It also equipped them with practical tools and resources to enhance their teaching practices. Provided with a platform to interact and collaborate, the enthusiasm of all the educators was palpable as they engaged in group activities and shared their best practices and experiences to deepen their understanding of the pedagogical processes. To name a few, the activities Observe and Absorb, Word Ladder and Mute Movements infused the participants with joy and energy leading to impactful learning. Equipped and empowered with the latest strategies and techniques, all the participants expressed their gratitude for such an opportunity. Resolved and committed to implementing their learnings ahead, they would enable their students to do their best by realizing their potential.
