On 24th April 2023, celebrated as Green Day, the school campus of St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School resonated with the earnest plea of the little ones in the junior section to the world to take note of, act in unison, and address this pressing issue of climate degradation on a war footing to avert the impending disaster.
With their fervent, zealous participation in numerous activities to mark the special day, the young minds at this tender age displayed their solemn understanding and responsibility to work in collaboration for attainable goals.
The environment enthusiasts from class prep prepared seed bombs to ensure bounty in green all around us.
The little ones from class I demonstrated how a seed joyfully sprouts with sunlight, water, and conducive temperature.
The students of class II engaged themselves in a collage-making activity using dry leaves. They showcased their artistic flair and promised to splash beautiful colors on nature’s canvas too.
With deep admiration, concern, and affection for all the creatures, the selfless hearts of class III made bird feeders using coconut shells. Their effort ensured the protection of their winged friends from the rising mercury.
Through their activity of making clay models of our planet, envisioning it in its glory and splendor again, and observing and apprising all with the enchanting lush flora in our institution, the students of class IV and V acquainted their peers and teachers with the abundance and generosity of Mother Earth.
Deeply ingrained with the Loreto values of gratitude and benevolence, each young Agnesian vowed to be a climate crusader and embark upon a journey with a tenacious spirit, voicing global environmental concerns and ensuring a safer, prosperous, and equitable world for all.
