Description:
The second day of Ad Astra commenced with much enthusiasm with the on-stage competition ‘Beats’ presented by the Music Club and the off-stage ‘Bon Appétit’ competitions presented by the Home Science Club. The former witnessed the confluence of 9 participating schools, was judged by Mr. Shivam Mishra, Mr. Debashish Tudu and Mr. Moni.
The euphony of varying notes of music resonated in the auditorium with the stellar performances of the students. There were four categories of the on-stage singing competitions. They included, ‘Warble’ which was Western solo singing where Loreto Convent secured the first position, ‘Whistle a Tune’ incorporating western group singing which was won by St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School, ‘Sur Laya Taal’, Indian solo singing which was won by La Martiniere Girls’ the and ‘Raag Alaap’, Indian group singing where Seth M. R. Jaipuria stood triumphant. All these competitions enraptured the spectators with each crescendo. The beauty of music worked its magic encompassing exhilarating as well as resplendent notes of melodious songs. At the same time, the participants of Bon Appétit made apetizing delicacies from a diverse range of cuisines where St. Agnes’ Loreto Day School bore away the first prize. Each dish represented the unflinching dedication and diligence of the participants who left no stone unturned in the two rounds of the competitions.
The day concluded on a euphoric note with the prize distribution of both the competitions.
